Goals and Expectations of this Semester

Last semester was my first time attending a university. It was extremely difficult due to the change of setting as well as the course load for my major. My expectations were that it was going to be the same as a community college. I thought it was going to be no different because in my mind I thought, "College is college." Within the first few weeks, I noticed that this was absolutely nothing like community college. I was taking classes for my major and there were not the core courses that I was use to taking. I use to not read the textbook in order to get my assignments done. After the first few weeks, I realized that I needed to actually read the book and study hard to actually learn something and pass these classes. At the end of the semester, I got A's and B's as well as A C+. I was very mad because I hardly ever get C's. That is when I knew that I had to make a change when it comes to balancing out work and school. I also learned that this is a university and the classes are going to get tougher each semester. As long as I discipline myself, stick to a strict schedule throughout the day, and make time for my homework, I will be okay.
My goals this semester is to get A's and B's when the final grades are in. I also want to bring up my GPA because my C+ kind of brought it down a little bit. Since I am taking courses that have to do with my major, I want to be able to learn something and apply my new knowledge not only in my career, but also in my life. I expect nothing but the best in these classes because they are going to teach me about being professional; something that is an ultimate goal of mine. I want to be able to be a role model and set an example to lead others if I were to ever get into a management. I have a feeling that this is going to a great semester.
