As the fall semester comes to an end and I look back on my perception of the ePortfolio project, I can say that I have learned a lot on how to put myself out there in a professional light. Doing this project showed me that the field of communication is a form of acting because you have to craft your performance skills in order to make it in the corporate world. The ePortfolio was like an online headshot that included in depth information about yourself and what you can bring to the workforce. I never realized how important this can be when you are trying to break into the industry of your career. It can help self-promote yourself to let any organization know why you are a good candidate to be chosen for the job that you are applying for.

In the future, I think my ePortfolio will help me be able land a good job after college and keep track of all my experience and achievements that I have and will accomplish as time goes on. I also believe that adding blog posts about my daily activities will help employers learn more about my personality. Even though having qualified skills is very important in the workforce, if you do not have a vibrant personality, you might not get very far in where you are trying to go. You have to be both humble and willing to learn and I think my ePortfolio can show that to potential employers.

My main project experience for my COMM 302 class was very fascinating and informative because I was never good at conducting research. Learning the communication research methods was definitely the most valuable lesson to me out of the entire semester. They showed me how to conduct scholarly research in a precise manner to my credibility. I also gained knowledge on the important elements of an experiment and the different types of questions that need to be asked when performing one. No matter what job that I decide to get into, these tips will come in handy because every career field involves the communication skill and at some point in time, I will have to do research for the assignments that I will be given to do. Other tips that I learned in this class was the different types of surveys, research ethics, measurement, statistics, and the content analysis of communication content. Looking back at my time in this class, I would not do anything differently because every day I was learning something new and I gave this class my undivided attention to be a better researcher. It was my goal from the start and I think I achieved it because now I know exactly what to do and use when I am given the task to conduct scholarly research.
